Hello! Welcome to my website. Here you’ll find updates on my journalism, cultural discoveries, travels and other movements.
On December 31, 2009 my partner Rachelle left the UK on a global recce, first stop Mumbai, India. Ultimate destination tbc. So far we’ve visited India, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China, Cambodia and Thailand. You can follow our progress over at Posterous.
I am a proud Scot, born in Edinburgh in August 1974. I’ve lived in England on and off for the last 18 years, initially in Manchester, where I read History of Art and spent too many hours on the dancefloor of The Haçienda.
Until recently I lived in Balham – “Gateway to the South” – in leafy south London (where my stuff remains in storage pending final destination tbc).
I have worked as a journalist for more than a decade, most recently on the Arts Desk of The Times in London. I feel very blessed to have found a vocation that rewards my natural, insatiable curiosity.
My other interests include travel, culture, astronomy, ornithology, nephology, rare books, fine wine and Manchester City FC.
